Job Summary:
The Property Services Technician supports the Property Services Director in maintaining all aspects of the camp’s grounds, utilities, vehicles, trails, and non-building infrastructure. This role ensures the outdoor and functional areas of the property remain safe, accessible, and well-maintained to support year-round camp and retreat operations.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in groundskeeping, utility systems, or equipment maintenance
  • Ability to safely operate tractors, lawn equipment, chainsaws, and small engines
  • Familiarity with basic mechanical and utility systems
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in variable outdoor conditions
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently or with a team
  • Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Availability to work some evenings, weekends, or holidays on call as needed

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with maintenance and upkeep of outdoor spaces including roads, trails, fields, waterfronts, and recreation areas
  • Maintain landscaping: mowing, trimming, watering, tree removal, and erosion control
  • Support operation and maintenance of utilities (water systems, septic, irrigation, generators, etc.)
  • Service and maintain vehicles, tractors, lawn equipment, and other machinery
  • Monitor and report any hazards or needed repairs related to infrastructure (fences, signage, lighting, etc.)
  • Assist in setup for outdoor events and seasonal activities
  • Help prepare property for seasonal weather conditions (e.g., storm cleanup)
  • Follow safety guidelines and ensure proper use and storage of tools and materials
  • Maintain inventory of outdoor maintenance supplies and equipment
  • Train and supervise volunteers or seasonal staff assisting with grounds work
  • Work closely with other departments to support the overall goals and objectives of the camp.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, promote a positive and inclusive environment that aligns with the camp's mission
  • Uphold the Florida Conference Seventh Day Adventist values and principles in all aspects of the job.
