Job Summary:

The IT Support Specialist is a part-time IT support position at Forest Lake Education Center, and answers to the Technology Director of FLEC and the Principal of FLEC. The IT Support Specialist is an ad hoc member of school’s IT Committee, is employed by the Florida conference either as a Conference contract or locally funded employee, and will fulfil the following:

• Serve on the FLOCE IT Committee and attend meetings in person regularly.
• Follow FLCOE policies and procedures including contributing to the FLCOE IT Documentation project.
• Coordinate any FLCOE admin actions with designated FLCOE IT staff.
• Complete training as required by FLCOE to perform IT admin responsibilities.
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.


Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Knowledge and Skills Required
    • Current CPR Certification
    • Must have strong speaking and listening skills.
    • State of Florida and National (FBI) background check clearance, including VECHS fingerprinting.
    • Be a faithful, practicing member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church whose life, habits, and influence are positive in leading students to Christ.
  • Education and Experience Required
    • At least one year of experience preferred working with students in an education setting.
    • Three to five years experience in software application support, iPad mobile device management and support, Windows PC and laptop troubleshooting, network, and general user support preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Give general user support.
  • Help facilitate Office 365 and Canvas training for teachers.
  • Help in imaging and re-imaging of PCs and laptops with Windows 11.
  • Break/fix of iPads, laptops, monitors, interactive boards, and other educational technology in the classrooms and buildings.
  • Assist with school's Ubiquiti network including access points and switches.
  • Work with the systems of: Incident IQ for helpdesk and equipment inventory, JAMF School for iPad mobile device management, Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 11, Canvas for learning management, FACTS for student information system, security cameras, IP phones, and AtlasIED/Informacast intercom/paging system.
  • Help in assessing the needs, best practices, and future plans for the school.
  • Other IT needs as deemed necessary.
