Job Summary:
NTCA is seeking a mission-aligned, strategic educational leader to serve as vice principal whose primary responsibilities include academic counseling and instructional coaching. This senior-level administrator will play a critical role in strengthening both student academic planning and instructional excellence across kindergarten through twelfth grade. This position is designed to ensure that every student is intentionally guided toward successful graduation and university readiness, while also elevating instructional quality through coaching, evaluation, and professional development of faculty. The ideal candidate will be a strong academic and spiritual leader who is willing to champion 21st-century learning methods. The candidate will also have a passion for the community and seek ways to show Jesus to a diverse community and student body. The selected applicant will work with the administrative team to lead the programming for nearly 600 students and 45 educators. Important strengths include the ability to relate well with students, communicate effectively with parents, and manage and relate well with faculty and staff. Applicants for this position must model Christ-like behavior and attitudes which will positively impact students in leading them to Christ. The selected employee will also be responsible for other school duties as may be assigned.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
Applicant must be a tithe-paying Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing and have the legal right to work in the United States, providing evidence if employed. A minimum of a bachelor's degree and North American Division (Denominational) Teacher Certification is required and must be maintained (or must agree to work towards obtaining NAD Certification). A master’s degree in education or a related field is preferred (educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, etc.). A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching and administrative experience are required. Demonstrated experience in instructional coaching or teacher development is preferred. Must be a team player; have a service-oriented attitude; be an effective communicator possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills; and be able to positively engage with students and families of diverse backgrounds, regardless of language, ethnicity, race, or socioeconomic status. Possessing competent technology skills using current educational software and hardware is essential. Additional traits should include organization, attention to detail, self-directed, and motivated. Absolute confidentiality is required. Curriculum familiarity, content knowledge, as well as knowledge of proficiency in instructional delivery are crucial. Most importantly, the applicant must possess a love for God, a love for working with children, and a desire to see each child in Heaven.

Job Responsibilities:
The vice principal will be expected to:
  1. Promote the Seventh-day Adventist philosophy, ensuring that all subject matter is taught from a Seventh-day Adventist perspective based on curriculum guidelines and requirements of the North American Division, Southern Union Conference, and Florida Conference.
  2. Provide strategic academic planning and guidance to support student success and post-secondary readiness.  This includes developing a personalized four-year academic plan starting in eighth grade aligned with graduation requirements and university entrance expectations; advising students regarding honors, dual enrollment, AP opportunities, and other academic pathways; maintaining accurate academic planning documentation and communication with families; etc.
  3. Serve as the primary instructional coach and academic quality leader for NTCA faculty including conducting classroom observations in collaboration with the division vice principals to provide actionable feedback focused on growth and excellence; support teachers in curriculum alignment, instructional best practices, assessment strategies, and student engagement; lead or coordinate faculty training sessions, workshops, and coaching cycles; etc.
  4. Serve as a bridge between student needs and instructional effectiveness. Ensure that instructional practices and delivery are academically and developmentally appropriate for diverse abilities and interests. Collaborate with division vice principals to ensure cohesive academic expectations across all grade levels.
  5. Ensure that accurate records (teacher, student, and class) are kept, organized, and maintained (including attendance, grades, etc.) in the school's Student Information System and maintain compliance with conference and NAD requirements.
  6. Communicate with parents regularly, keeping them well-informed.
  7. Be willing and seek opportunities to grow professionally.
  8. Be responsible for other duties as may be assigned by the school administration.
