Job Summary:
Orlando Filipino church(OFC) is looking for a director for a community-based program, serving children from ages 1 – 5 years old and is located in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Currently, OFC is searching for a Program Director that is passionate about leading staff, children and families in a way that supports a child-centered model.

Mission 

The director will carry out the mission of Seventh Day Adventist Early Childhood Education, which is "to provide a Christ-centered environment that is safe and secure in which young children can grow in mind, body, and spirit through play and organized activities".

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Hold a current Florida Child Care Director’s Credential (preffered)
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Center Director (preferred), or
  • Have a total of 5 years experience in early childhood education with at least two of these as an Associate Director
  • Be a member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Be able to develop, engage and inspire a team
  • Have outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple situations on a daily basis
  • Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures at low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with them
  • Have the ability to speak, read and write English well
  • Have a working knowledge of social media sites such as Instagram

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an ongoing, positive image for the center.
  • Be responsible for all personnel matters including recruiting, orientations, scheduling, monitoring continuing education requirements, etc.
  • Collaborate with local conference in staff employment, hiring and dismissing of workers.
  • Keep center licensed, current with inspections, and insurance premiums paid.
  • Work with local coalitions regarding requirements and paperwork deadlines such as attendance, background screenings, and yearly applications.
  • Oversee the registration process.
  • Collect tuition, prepare payroll, develop budgets, plan and oversee the purchase of supplies, and maintain proper and accurate records of funds.
  • Supervise the scholarship program and coordinate fund-raising projects.
  • Prepare and produce center communications, including the Parent Handbook, Employee Handbook, and maintain official records per Best Practices guidelines.
  • Observe classroom activity on a regular basis.
  • Participate with and ensure active and positive interaction with the local church.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Supervise and work closely with teachers to plan appropriate curriculum programs, evaluate performance and address necessary issues.
  • Oversee safety of premises, maintenance and cleanliness of center and grounds.
  • Manage food service program and volunteer helpers.
  • Report to center board on a regular basis on current enrollment, staffing, administrative and budget issues.
  • Attend constituent church and school board meetings.
  • Project professionalism for staff, parents, applicants, constituents, and outside groups.
  • Conduct tours for new children and families.
  • Attend conference and union professional development in-services regularly
  • Handle all issues in a professional Christian manner, with the utmost confidentiality.
