Job Summary:
The Preschool Teacher will oversee related learning activities. Supervise and teach preschool students, ensure compliance with program requirements in cooperation with the Early Childhood coordinator, assist with parent education programs and coordinate communications with parents.  


Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Must be a certified lead teacher through the Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program to be considered for this position.
  • Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances.
  • Must be able to complete technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
  • Ability to administer assessments, operate standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; effective listening; facilitating classroom procedures and policies while maintaining an active and rich learning environment; data-drive instruction; monitoring activities; problem solving, and preparing and maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans.
  • Ability is required to schedule a number of activities, meeting, and/or events; gather collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment.
  • Ability to work with data utilizing defined but different processes and operate equipment using standardized methods.
  • Must have basic math skills, be able to compose a variety of documents and/or facilitate group discussions, and solve practical problems.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement instruction to ensure that all student meet and exceed the Core Curriculum Content Standard in the six broad categories of comprehensive health and physical education.
  • Movement, fin motor, and academic concepts and skills for life long physical, mental, and spiritual application restoring children to their Maker's image.
  • Apply safety standard.
  • Incorporate each of the Core Curriculum Content Standards into instruction, when appropriate, to reinforce the school's responsibility to ensure that all students meet and exceed all of the Standard.
  • Provide a variety of learning experiences for the students.
  • Recommend budget needs to the Principal.
  • Submit lesson plans in the approved format to the Principal as required and on day and time requested.
  • Use effective presentation skills when employing direct instruction, including appropriate vocabulary and examples, clear and legible visuals, and articulate and audible speech. Use excellent written and oral America English skills when communicating with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Asses and diagnose the learning, social, and emotional needs and styles of students, using a variety of assessment technique and data.
  • Assist with extracurricular activities, supporting the total program of the school.
  • Ensure the safety and health of all students, notifying the administration of any unsafe conditions, following established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records.
