Job Summary:
The Maintenance Building Repair Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure that buildings and facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role involves troubleshooting issues, conducting routine inspections, and performing repairs on various building systems and structures.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in building maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building maintenance and repair.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, good communication skills, and proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in plumbing, electrical, or HVAC are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.

Working Conditions:
• Works indoors and outdoors depending on task.
• May require evening or weekend work for emergency repairs or special projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • General Repairs: Perform repairs on building structures, including walls, floors, ceilings, doors, and windows.
  • Plumbing: Address plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and fixture repairs or replacements.
  • Electrical: Conduct basic electrical repairs, including replacing light fixtures, outlets, and switches.
  • HVAC Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory of supplies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors to coordinate repairs and maintenance projects.
