Job Summary:
The School Facilities Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of the school’s physical environment. This role ensures that the school’s facilities are well-maintained, operational, and conducive to a safe and effective learning environment.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in facilities management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in facilities management or safety compliance are a plus.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance Management: Coordinate and oversee routine maintenance and repairs of school buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all facilities comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors for services such as cleaning, landscaping, and repairs.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of the facilities budget. Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Event Support: Coordinate the setup and breakdown of facilities for school events, meetings, and activities.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Order new supplies as needed.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for facilities-related incidents. Act as the point of contact during emergencies.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise custodial and maintenance staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
    • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Works indoors and outdoors for depending on tasks.
    • May require evening or weekend work for special events or emergencies.
