Job Summary:

The CFO is responsible for planning and executing the school’s short- and long-term financial plan in coordination with the President, Head of School, and Finance Committee. He/She will direct all aspects of financial management which include tuition communications, accounting, and human resources. Applicants must possess a high level of tact, friendliness, and other aspects of strongly developed interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines; and proven organizational and time management skills. Applicants for this position must model Christ-like behavior and attitudes that will positively impact students in leading them to Christ. The selected employee will also be responsible for other school duties as may be assigned.

  • Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
    • The applicant must have a service-oriented attitude, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work with students, families, and staff of diverse backgrounds. Possessing competent technology skills is required. Additional abilities must include strong organization skills and attention to detail, as well as being self-directed, motivated, and effective with time management. Absolute confidentiality is required. Most importantly, the applicant must possess a love for God, a love for working with children, and a desire to see each child in Heaven.
    • Education and Experience Required
      • Applicant must be a Seventh-day Adventist church member in good standing and possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (Master's preferred) in Business, Management, or Accounting/Finance
      • Wages will be based on the Florida Conference Wage Scale. The applicant should have a history of successful experience in related fields

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Promoting the Seventh-day Adventist philosophy and following the guidelines and requirements of the North American Division, Southern Union Conference, and Florida Conference
    • Promoting the highest standards of business ethos within the administrative function of the school and strategically ensuring the most effective use of resources
    • Working with the President and Head of School to vision, plan, and budget for school success and growth
    • Acquiring and maintaining proficiency in Blackbaud accounting and financial systems
    • Preparing monthly financial statements and supervising all NTCA accounting activities
    • Preparing PowerPoint presentations with effective use of graphics and concise presentation-friendly financial information
    • Presenting to the board and the finance committee, as well as working with departments on implementing cost savings and new revenue opportunities
    • Preparing annual operating budgets for consideration and approval by the finance committee and board
    • Maintaining a strategic financial plan that will indicate the trends and requirements of the school development plan and will forecast future year budgets
    • Being responsible for the financial resource management, facility and property management, financial health, and safety management of the school.
    • Working with auditors on annual audits
    • Implementing effective financial policies and ensuring compliance
    • Supervising the Business Office
    • Supervising ordering of supplies as needed
    • Carrying out duties as assigned by the President and Florida Conference Treasurer
    • Representing NTCA as requested by the President and/or Florida Conference
    • Participating in Administrative meetings
    • Communicating with parents, as needed, keeping them well-informed
    • Being willing to grow professionally
