North Tampa Christian Academy is a rapidly growing kindergarten through twelfth-grade school with nearly 600 students. The school is located in Wesley Chapel, one of the fastest growing communities in the country. Job Summary:
NTCA is seeking a K-12 music teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The position will encompass teaching music to elementary, middle school, and high school grade levels. Responsibilities may include teaching classroom music, choirs, and instrumental groups. The candidate must be a team player, creative, and able to deliver instruction to students using a variety of teaching methods and activities. Applicants for this position must model Christ-like behavior and attitudes which will positively impact students in leading them to Christ. The ideal candidate should have a passion for the community and seek ways to show Jesus to a diverse community and student body. The teacher will also be responsible for other school duties as may be assigned.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
Applicants must be a tithe-paying Seventh-day Adventist church members in good standing and have the legal right to work in the United States, providing evidence if employed. North American Division (Denominational) Teacher Certification with a minimum of a bachelor's degree is required and must be maintained (or must agree to work towards obtaining NAD Certification). Successful experience is preferred. Must have a service-oriented attitude, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work with students and families of diverse backgrounds. Possessing competent technology skills using current educational software and hardware is essential. Additional traits should include organization, attention to detail, self-directed, and motivated. Absolute confidentiality is required. Curriculum familiarity, content knowledge, as well as proficient instructional delivery are crucial. Most importantly, the applicant must possess a love for God, a love for working with children, and a desire to see each child in Heaven.

Job Responsibilities:
The teacher will be expected to:
  1. Promote the Seventh-day Adventist philosophy, ensuring that all subject matter is taught from a Seventh-day Adventist perspective based on curriculum guidelines and requirements of the North American Division, Southern Union Conference, and Florida Conference.
  2. Develop and submit weekly lesson plans to the principal as required. Lesson plans are to include Objectives, Procedures, and Evaluation for each learning style. Must also demonstrate evidence of lesson/unit planning and preparation that honors individual diversity and builds upon prior knowledge.
  3. Select subject matter that is academically and developmentally appropriate for diverse abilities and interests.
  4. Employ a variety of teaching techniques and activities appropriate to student learning styles and subject matter, stimulate critical and creative thinking, and monitor student understanding.
  5. Use a variety of evaluation techniques to provide feedback and communicate progress, providing opportunities for students to learn from mistakes as well as successes.
  6. Utilize appropriate classroom management routines that facilitate student engagement and continuity.
  7. Provide for individual differences through diagnostic and prescriptive teaching.
  8. Communicate challenging expectations that encompass critical and creative thinking as well as problem-solving skills.
  9. Maintain a classroom climate conducive to student learning, allowing sufficient time for academic activities.
  10. Utilize effective behavior management techniques which promote self-discipline.
  11. Systematically involve all students in the instructional process and encourage intellectual risk-taking.
  12. Maintain accurate and organized student class records (attendance, grades, etc.) on the school's Student Information System in compliance with administration.
  13. Communicate with parents regularly, keeping them well-informed.
  14. Be willing to grow professionally.
