Job Summary:
The Maintenance Worker works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor as an assistant. The Maintenance Worker is responsible for Greater Miami Adventist Academy on and off campus buildings and equipment maintenance. The Maintenance Worker is responsible for executing strategies which maintain, beautify, and maximize the use and effectiveness of the physical plant.


Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A/C Certification desirable.
  • Needs to possess, to a unique degree, an ability to work with building and equipment maintenance.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak English well to effectively communicate and interact with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, etc.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and under pressure; punctuality is a must at all times; ability to travel locally as required; weekend and overtime work may be required.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a safe physical plant environment on school property.
  • Cooperates with others and manages conflict in a mature and positive manner.
  • Ensures that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective area.
  • Reports all accidents and incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be.
  • Provides set-up and cleaning of facilities for all activities and events as directed.
  • Performs and/or assists with general appliance repairs, carpet repairs, A/C, and electrical repairs.
  • Performs and/or assists with carpentry work, painting, and plumbing duties as required.
  • Installs appliances and electrical fixtures as required.
  • Installs, repairs, and re-keys deadbolt locks.
  • Handles designated service requests within 24 hours.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by administration.
  • Follows all safety rules and Conference and School policies.
