Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting a classroom teacher in the general supervision and management of the children among covering classroom needs. Responsibilities include: copying, laminating, preparing activities, caring for students, reading to/tutoring students, grading papers, getting supplies and preparing projects.


Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Prior experience in Child Care required.
  • At least 1 year experienced preferred working with children in an education or day care setting.
  • Basic Computer literacy
  • Current CPR Certification
  • State of Florida and National (FBI) background check clearance, including VECHS fingerprinting.
  • Be a faithful, practicing member of the seventh-day Adventist Church whose life, habits, and influence are positive in leading students to Christ.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the teacher.
  • Assisting in the planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing needed material and supplies.
  • Supervising the classroom when the teacher is out of the room.
  • Maintaining professional attitudes and loyalty to the school. 
  • Assisting teachers with non-teaching tasks, including grading papers, recording grades, making copies, getting supplies, and preparing projects.
  • Supervising students in classroom and on playground.
  • Interacting and managing student's behavior in a positive manner.
  • Maintaining confidentiality about children, their families, and other employees outside the school.
  • Helping with the operations of audio/visual aids.
  • Runs errands. Helps with individual students with their work as directed by the teacher.
  • Performs any other related work as required.
