Job Summary:
This position is responsible for keeping close care of the students who attend Before School Care. Daily tasks include: taking attendance of your group, engaging your students in organized activities, serving food, ensuring safety of all students, reporting to the Before Care Director, etc.


Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Prior experience in child care required.
  • Must be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid certification.
  • Must speak English, preferably bilingual.
  • Must have a Florida Food Handlers Certification.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Hours are 7:30am-10:30am
  • Follow all the School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program guidelines.
  • Supervise children attending the program and promote safety and respect amongst all participants.
  • Ensure a friendly and supportive atmosphere is maintained by developing appropriate strategies to support children in managing their behavior.
  • Respond to the individual needs of children and establish stable and consistent relationships with each child and their families/caregivers.
  • Ensure that the health and safety needs of the children are met, and all health and safety issues are dealt with immediately and appropriately.
  • Ensure correct procedures are followed for administering first aid.
  • Ensure proper Drop Off procedures are followed.
  • Keep the facility clean and tidy, ensure the safe storage of equipment.
  • Report on a regular basis regarding issues of need and/or concern.
  • Responsible for opening the school at 7:30am and preparing breakfast, receiving the students, and caring for them until class starts.
  • Responsible for preparing and serving the breakfast and cleaning the kitchen after.
  • Responsible for receiving lunch and placing it on the corresponding place.
  • Responsible for breakfast and lunch documentation under the National School Lunch Program guidelines.
