Job Summary:
The Full-Time Bible Worker serves as a key member of the pastoral ministry team, working under the direction of the Lead Pastor to advance the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church throughevangelism, discipleship, pastoral care, leadership development, and community engagement.
This position combines the evangelistic and discipleship emphasis of a traditional Bible Worker with selected pastoral ministry responsibilities. The Bible Worker helps individuals move fromfirst contact tocommitted discipleship, strengthens the spiritual life of the congregation, develops ministry leaders, and expands the church's capacity to reach its community.
Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
A working knowledge of the Bible and fundamental teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Completion of college training in Religion/Theology or evangelism training school.
Faithful, self-motivated, and proactive work style.
Good organization, presentation, and time management skills.
Good social skills and ability to relate to and befriend people.
Excellent team member and teachable.
Ability to get around independently.
Former experience as a Bible Worker or Literature Evangelist is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Evangelism & Bible Ministry
Develop relationships with individuals seeking spiritual growth and provide personal and small-group Bible studies.
Cultivate and follow up on evangelistic interests, helping individuals progress toward decisions forChrist, baptism, and active church involvement.
Participate in evangelistic initiatives, community outreach, and special ministry events.
Develop intentional pathways that move guests from visitor ? connection ? Bible study ? baptism ? discipleship ? ministry involvement .
Discipleship & Leadership
Development Disciple new and existing members through mentoring, Bible study, small groups, and spiritualformation.
Recruit, equip, and coach members to become disciple-makers and ministry leaders.
Develop systems that strengthen assimilation, retention, volunteer engagement, and multiplication.
Support the development of young adults and emerging ministry leaders.
Pastoral Ministry & Congregational Care
Assist the Lead Pastor with preaching, teaching, worship services, prayer ministry, visitation, andspiritual care.
Provide pastoral presence and support to members experiencing illness, hospitalization, grief, family challenges, or other significant life events.
Assist with Sabbath services, prayer meetings, small groups, and other congregational ministries as assigned.
Support the Lead Pastor in strengthening the spiritual health, unity, and mission of the congregation.
Church Growth & 21st Century Church Planting
Help develop innovative approaches for reaching younger generations, unchurched individuals, and the increasingly diverse communities of South Florida.
Identify, develop, and mentor potential church planters and ministry leaders.
In partnership with Florida Conference Ministerial, assist in coaching and resourcing emerging church plants as the Conference advances its 21st Century church-planting initiatives.
Help document, evaluate, and share effective ministry practices developed through ARISE that may benefit other Florida Conference congregations.
MINISTRY ACCOUNTABILITY
The Bible Worker functions as a member of the pastoral ministry team under the leadership and supervision of the Lead Pastor and in harmony with the policies, beliefs, mission, and ministry objectives of the Florida Conference and Seventh-day Adventist Church.
MEASURES OF MINISTRY IMPACT
Success will be evaluated through measurable progress in Bible-study engagement, baptisms and decisions for Christ, new-member assimilation and retention, discipleship participation, volunteer and leader development, community engagement, and support of emerging church plants.
