Job Summary:
The Associate Pastor/Worship Leader will plan MWC worship services, coordinate the music ministries of the church and oversee assigned adult ministry volunteer leaders and committees.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • Qualifications & Skills:
    • Musical Proficiency: Strong instrumental and vocal abilities.
    • Theological Discernment: A solid grasp of Scripture and alignment with the church's doctrines.
    • People Skills: The ability to resolve conflicts, relate to diverse age groups, motivate and build teams.
    • Education: A bachelor's degree in ministry, music, or theology is preferred.
  • Required Skills and Experience:
    • Be a member at MWC.
    • Demonstrates proficiency with a musical instrument, preferably piano playing.
    • Proficiency in Office365 (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
    • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work with diverse groups in a church setting.
    • Quick learner with technology, including social media and communication platforms.
    • Strong time management skills, problem solver and ability to work in a team environment, managing competing priorities.
    • Must pass background checks as required by the Florida Conference of SDA.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Worship Leadership
    • Service Planning: Coordinate with the Senior Pastor to plan meaningful, theologically sound worship services, including Sabbath worship, vespers, holiday programs, funerals, weddings, retreats, and concerts.
    • Music Ministry Leadership: Oversee and develop all aspects of the church’s music ministry. Plan and lead corporate worship services in coordination with the preaching pastor, aligning music with the themes of scripture, the sermon and special events (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.). Schedule and lead regular practices to build musical and vocal unity.
    • Team Management: Recruit, train and disciple volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technical teams, cultivating both musical excellence and spiritual maturity.
    • Administration: Manage the worship budget and oversee instruments, audio/visual equipment, and software (like Planning Center). Coordinate the sanctuary decorations for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  2. Pastoral Ministry Support
    • Volunteer Oversight: Develop ministry lay leaders and teams for Women's Ministry, Men's Ministry, and Active Adventurous Adults (AAA) and others depending upon the MWC needs. Provide support, vision, structure, and leadership for adult discipleship ministries.
    • Volunteer Development: Train and support volunteer leaders and teachers. Evaluate and strengthen existing volunteer ministries to promote spiritual growth and unity.
    • Pastoral Care: Provide spiritual guidance, counseling, bible studies and visitation for adults in the congregation.
    • Collaborate with MWC Pastoral Team: Meet with MWC staff weekly and help with churchwide events as needed.
