Building Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will maintain and repair Camp Kulaqua structures in order to provide guests with safe, presentable, and comfortable facilities, according to accepted construction practices and codes.  The individual will represent the Camp Kulaqua's Building Maintenance Department and all interactions with guests, staff, and vendors will be conducted in a friendly and professional manner.

Skills, Education, and Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Two or more years of experience in two or more construction related trades necessary.
  • Certificate and license relevant to work experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate (verbal and written) in English with guests, co-workers, and management.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building remodeling, interior and exterior painting practices , metal and shingle roofing techniques, flooring coverings , and experience with building materials (e.g. roofing, siding, flooring, framing, sheet rock, paint, concrete, etc.) is
  • Prior experience installing flooring (e.g. floating floor systems, tile, carpet, etc.) , making wall repairs, form and pouring concrete required.
  • Knowledge of fundamental electrical systems and equipment is required.
  • Must have the ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • Must be adept in the use of Microsoft Office XP software or later, particularly Excel and Word, Internet and email.
  • Must work effectively well with others and have the ability to follow both written and verbal directions.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform roofing repairs on metal and shingle roofs.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on buildings, inspect mechanisms, replace filters. etc.
  • Take ownership of work and assigned responsibilities.
  • Follow safety rules and regulation and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
